One Loss is too Many

About

Babyhope is just an alias that I created so I can talk about my miscarriages and miscarriages in general without exposing myself or my family.

I have had three miscarriages, which is the minimum required by (some) doctors to give it the official name multiple miscarriages or recurring miscarriages. Most insurances and doctors won’t really start running tests until you have had the required three miscarriages (or I highly recommend you change doctors until you find one who will).

I’m in my late 20’s, I’m healthy, exercise regularly, don’t smoke, drink occasionally (but never while trying to conceive or pregnant), my family doesn’t have any history of miscarriages or infertility. We don’t have any trouble conceiving, but I’ve lost 3 pregnancies for no apparent reason apparently because of an uterine septum. I had surgery last October to remove the septum and we are pregnant again.

My email is onelossistoomany at hotmail dot com.

Hi…I am writing because I just came across your blog while doing a search online for testing after multiple miscarriages. I hope you don’t mind me asking but I am trying to figure out what to expect from my doctor. I have one daughter…born 3 years ago and I have within the last six months suffered two miscarriages. My doctor has offered to discuss doing some tests even though she would typically wait until I have had three miscarriages. So, if you don’t mind a complete stranger asking you…what did you do, was there anything that has helped you? I keep coming across more and more tests that can be done but I don’t know where to start.

I hope to hear from you and I hope you don’t mind hearing from me.

    Kindest regards-

    Meg

    Hi there-
I too have been diagnosed with a uterine septum and am planning on having the surgery to remove it on May21. I wanted to know what your recovery was like and how long it took to get pregnant after your surgery…
I’m lucky in that I have only had to experience one miscarriage and then my septum was discovered via MRI.

    Thank you!
